Salisbury Crags I noticed there are a few easy routes there, potentially good for kids. Does anyone know what the belay situation is in south Quarry? Are there any stakes in place at the top as the terrain looks a bit devoid of natural anchor points.

Unless something has changed recently, no. It's not that great rock higher up either.

No stakes in place (and likely not allowed), and nothing else that could easily be used for a belay. Plenty of scope for easy->hard bouldering with kids, flat grass landings esp towards the left hand side of the back wall.

Thanks, that will save on the weight then. I'll bring a mat and let them do shortish problems.

If you haven't already discovered it,  Blackford Quarry is more suitable for top roping, with bolt belays at the top of the main wall. There is also some bouldering at  Agassiz Rock right next door.
