We may head to Sardinia en famille later this year but it is somewhat conditional on there being good easy climbing on offer for the kids (9 & 11, climbing 4/4+/5-ish) - have had a trawl through the topos I can find online (and have searched here) but not too convinced as of yet. Looking for crags with a selection of routes in those grades (and definitiely 4s needed to keep the younger one motivated), and ideally not just 10m long 'kiddy intro crags'.

Any experience/advice gladly received.

Thanks in advance.

Some decent, slabby routes of good length at  Budinetto. Not exactly weeks worth of routes, but it's a great location with sea side crags nearby for other days, and fab beaches.

Agreed - a few good crags around Cala Gonone, at least based on the fact that I seem to be leading around the level of your children! Cala Fuili, Budinetto. One you have the fun of being right by the beach; the other has lovely shallow slab with more of a mountain feel.

Arrampicare a Cala Gonone is the guide we used for the area.

Placche di Flintstones has routes 4c -5c

Budino del Giganti has longer routes 3 - 6a+ mostly in the 4's & 5's

Cala e codula Fuili has a selection of 5a's around Settore ferry

Doloverre di Sùrtana has plenty of easy angle routes in the 3 - 5c range described as a magical environment and fantastic routes for those who like climbing on slabs

Take plenty of water it gets hot on those slabs

We didn't really find any 4s in the south (Lotzorai area, Porto Flavia area). There were enough 5's&6's to go at though.

Some areas around Domusnovas do have friendly 5s ... see sector D left and above the cave for example Domusnovas Area.

The area has more childfriendly attractions including said cave, lots of earlier mining areas, and the areas around Castello de Iride and Punta Pilocca with a days worth of climbing in the lower grades each.
