Evening all,

I seen to have done all the usual haunts to death lately in yorkshire, lancashire and north Wales, and I've definitely had enough of the peak district.

Can anyone recommend any crags / areas that offer some lower grade soloing or some sport climbing for the next few days within a sensible drive of Skipton. Plan on staying away in the van so open to ideas, just bored of the same old same old......

If dry  Wainstones

Or  Scugdale - Barker's Crags certainly fit the bill, there is a new guide out available from Franco's website

Been to them a bit and I grant that they would make a nice change. Not a bad idea that.

The Eden Valley can be dry when the nearby Lake District is cold and wet. There is a range of crags from Armathwaite (sandstone trad) to King's Meaburn (limestone trad) that are sheltered from the worst weather. If it's not blowing a gale then Windmore End is good for soloing all sorts of stuff as is Cumrew. Coudy Rocks by Appleby is short sports routes.
