Anybody got any recommendations for a walking holiday in Spain/Portugal that won't get friends caught up in spring snows?
Open to guided options if anyone wants to recommend or towt (sp?) themselves.

Hi Mike,

We organise walking trips to Costa Blanca in Spain.
April is a good time to visit as the flowers will be blooming. Temps should be perfect for walking in the mountains too.

We can sort either / both accommodation and guiding. Based in the Jalon valley which has loads of fantastic walks close by. Here's a link to the relevant webpage:

And our blog which has loads of info and photos (although many are climbing related, they'll give a good idea of what the place looks like:

Hope this is helpful. Any questions please get in touch on: 07971 622616 or via the website.

Siurana and (especially) Montsant is worth checking out, I've only climbed there, but explored a bit on rest days. It is magnificent. Dave McCleod put up a short video (Run Forever?) which gives you a flavour.

I have had a couple of visits walking in the Costa Blanca, using the Charles Davis guide and associated map, and very much enjoyed it at that time of year.

I went on the Exodus walking trip in April last year.

It was really good. We had a strong group and kept up a good pace. Nice accommodation and excellent knowledgeable guides.

Hi, We are a group of British IML's based in Lanjaron on the edge of the Alpujarra and Sierra Nevada between Granada and the coast at Salobrena. There is some fantastic hill walking here and we'd be happy to advise you if you want to organise your own trip. There are plenty of walks at lower altitudes for the non snow lovers!

We also have a couple of guided weeks running at the end of April, one straight walking and one with an emphasis on wildlife:

Hope you find the right holiday

I can reccomend the Alpujarras too. Went in March a few years ago, plenty to go at and snow only on the highest peaks. Felt like a nice part of Spain and then there's Grenada or Malaga for a city
