Can anyone recommend a campsite in this area?

What are your preferences? Lots of facilities, pool, etc. or a more simple site? Within walking distance to crags? To town? And how far from Tarascon are you prepared to be?

Thank you for replying., The distance from Tarascon is not too important as we are coming by car, relative tranquility would be good, pool not at all a factor.

We will be arriving around 8th June for an unspecified period.

I'm certainly not an expert on local camping but we do get feedback from time to time. For your preference I'd say it would be worth looking at https://www.campingfrance.com/recherchez-votre-camping/occitanie/ariege/ari..., which is very close to Tarascon but still very small and quiet. Alternatively, we've heard generally good things about the camping in Vicdessos.

We stayed at Camping Le Sedour a few years ago.  It was simple, relaxed and friendly.

They were doing some building on a different section of the campsite, so it may possibly have changed character since then, but it might be worth a look.
