Has anybody got any info on conditions in The Brenta, specifically the Via della Bocchette ? Much snow left ?

In reply to Michael Griffith:

Was on it a couple of weeks ago. No snow to speak of on via Ferrara but we found an axe/pole and spikes (not crampons) useful on the snow slopes to approach and descend from the boccas (cols) where the Ferrara's begin.

In reply to Mark Glaister - Assistant Editor:

Useful info, thanks.

Even the couloir on the bochette Alte?

Agreed, especially first thing in the morning when the glissading tracks from the previous day are frozen solid.

In reply to Toerag:

Only snow left on the via feratta is that mentioned in descriptions (I used the German book) but not anywhere else. The odd gully and a small snow bridge (which has probably melted now).
