Bucegi Mountains

There's a possible ski touring trip being organised by the AAC in April next year which  I am interested in. I quite fancy visiting 'the Carpathians' (sounds great!) and also Romania.

However I am a bit concerned that Bucegi may turn out about as exciting as the Malvern Hills; and also that there may not be so much snow by the middle of April. Does anyone have any experience or comments?

Well, it looks like I won't be bumping into anyone from UKC there anyway, so that's a start!

You never know, plenty of AAC members on UKC (me included).

Surprised that you haven't had any response to your question, as yet.

Lots of ski touring option in Romania. Though bucegi possibly least interesting option. 

Better locations would be fagaras or retezat.
