Any recommendations / experiences for an App that run the French IGN maps on an iPhone ?

I use outdoors GB for the UK and find that simple and intuitive

Everyone I know locally round the Écrins uses the iPhiGéNie cartes IGN app, its free to down load with road map type maps and then if you want the blue walking map IGN top 25 its around 10-15€ a year subscription.

I find it really good for what I use it for, there is a website and forum for it, its in French there is a PDF English guide as well

I have used the iphigenie app for years and it works well for me. I particularly like being able to add in the slope angles layer (which is 'fadeable'). Not sure if that feature works on Viewranger - maybe Tom B can confirm?

As above - about €14 a year (same price as one IGN Top 25 paper map...), pretty sure Viewranger is same price for accessing the IGN data.

I use this when I’m in Chamonix. Works a treat.

Multicarto is basic but works well. You can download maps as images but haven't worked out if it's possible to download for app offline use. Leaving the app "open" with the map loaded is a workaround as it doesn't auto refresh
