I read this this morning and was going to post here too, glad I searched first!

What load of absolute horseshit this fella has been spouting.  I'm really glad that an organisation as reputable as Nat Geo have called him out on this.

I know they do programmes with Bear Grylls and he's a bit of a blowhard, but he's not in the same league as this guy.

I guess you've worked it out by now "our" Damo is Damien Gildea! So he's quoted through the article. This is why when Damo comments on one of my gear reviews I take his thoughts very seriously! Not many people who can drop into conversation lines like "yeah, its a pretty good bag to -40 but I wouldn't push it much beyond that"!

I remember reading Gildea's blog post about it - it was great! I just had a bit of a deja vu with this new NatGeo article, as I thought "I know that, having read about it somewhere, about a year ago", so thanks for the reminder 

It's a sad state of things when marketing triumphs over genuine achievements like Ousland's and others.
