Video of Punchen Himal North (5,962m) ascent, Nepal
Punchen Himal North (5,962m) lies on the Nepal-Tibet border, 30km north of Ganesh. I was part of a team of four who made the second ascent of PHN in April 2017 by a partially new route. If anyone is interested in this remote and stunning region - my video shows our long approach up the Tsum Valley. It shows our acclimatization on some minor peaks, and then briefly our PHN climb at the end. It was all low grade mountaineering (PD+). And, if (unlike me) you’re not so interested in Sherpa culture and Tsum wildlife - and just want to see snowy mountains - you may wish to skip the first 3 and a half minutes!
