Hey,
Thinking of spending a few weeks in Valmasino this summer and looking to do it as cheap as possible but the price of camping is putting a serious dent in that plan. Does anyone know of any good spots to wild camp and or bivi?

In reply to j.hale: There are a couple of spots around the Remeno boulder which are okay

In reply to j.hale: Last summer late in the season my mates bivvied under the huge boulder next to the road for 2 weeks. There was a small tent and one or two campervans there as well. The proximity of a toilet block (not nice) seemed to be the attraction.

Cheers that sounds great. Probably going to take a one man tent or a hooped bivi so that sounds perfect. What are the authorities like there do they turn up and move you off alot?

In reply to j.hale: I was there for a couple of weeks a few summers ago. everyone seemed to suggest that the authorities were tough on wild camping. we camped up near the base of one of the sports crags with a steep approach (in the guide, can't remember which one). bit of a hike with camping stuff but we were guaranteed to be left alone (wasn't a particularly popular crag either).

use your head and you'll be fine.
