Hi all,
I will be in Zermatt with 2 friends at the end of August for the Matterhorn Extreme Sky race. In the week beforehand we were looking at doing some climbing or mountaineering. Which guidebook or books would you recommend?
Many thanks
Gavin
Almost all the big mountains in that part of Switzerland are 4000ers. For mountaneering there is the AC Book by the late, great Martin Moran:

Alternatively, there is:

More generally, there is a very good book on the Valais Alps, but it's still only available in German (you'll find it in Zermatt):

There's not actually a lot of rock climbing around Zermatt. The Plaisir book is quite good and covers a huge area from Chamonix to Zermatt:

Thanks for your help.
