What are people using 80m  ropes for? Even too long for bigwalling.

In reply to lukegorman:

A lot of sport climbing in Europe E.g. Chulilla in Spain requires a 70m rope and there are more and more routes, often extensions, that need an 80m rope.

Even if "only" 70m is needed (my first rope was 50m back in the stone age!), the extra 10m is useful when an end gets worn and needs chopping.

As above French/Spanish sport and also I use one for multipitching as it allows for linking several pitches together and 160m of protected simul climbing with 1 micro-trax rather than using a shorter rope and carrying several ascenders.
