Hi All,

Looking for reccomendations for a resonably priced bombproof expedition pack; around 80/90l. Needs to:

Be hardwaring due to the airport thrashing and log slops to BC/higher camps.
Reasonably uncluttered/simple.
Very comfy.

In reply to Chay: There are plenty out there, it boils down to budget and taste. One thought though, don't put your rucvsac on the airport luggage conveyor belt - stick it, fully packed if needed, inside a big (and it can be very cheap) hold all to protect it.

In reply to nickinscottishmountains: If I did that I'd have to find somewhere to dump the holdall once I arrive at the airport; then I'd have to buy another on the return flight.

Eveything I have with me must be carried; I can't have excess kit, I don't have anywhere to store it whilst I'm climbing.

In reply to Chay: Put in an orange survival bag? A bit of parcel tape around it and you might feasibly find uses for the bag during your trip?

In reply to Chay: I have a xpod 90 liter sack that I use for expeditions and it is a great sack. Perfect shape, simple design with no silly small pockets on the outside. seems pretty much indestructable. The only downside is if not full it is not wonderfully comfy and sits funny on the back but provided it is full it is lovely. would definately recommend it.

In reply to Chay: For air travel, bin bags and duct tape. Easy to pick up at both ends of the trip.

I'd looked at the bags from Andy's blog..very tempting.

As for covering it; I'll either punt of that cover or blag bags!
