A cutting edge down jacket aimed at hardcore alpinists, the Kryos may be a big investment for the less elite masses, but its active cut, weather resistance, and superb warmth for weight would give it a very viable role in the Scottish winter hills as well as on big, scary Alps, reckons Dan Bailey. Bring on the cold!
