Hi,

To anyone who knows, do the mountain hardware series packs, have an aluminium frame in the back? If so, can it be taken out as I cannot seem to find any of this info online.

I'd like to know if the 25l can pack down really small into another bag, so it can be used as a summit pack from a mountain hut

Cheers

Looks to be the same as the MH Alpine Light which does have an internal aluminium frame that can be removed.  Might be worth phoning and asking www.rockrun.com which was where I got mine - they appear to stock both models & they're usually very helpful.

I've got the 30l, there's only a corrugated plastic insert in the back of the bag. It's not removable, but pretty flexible.

A blue ice dragon fly is what you want, I use mine all the time for this sort if thing.

That's a lot of pack for just a summit pack?

I'd get a Simond Cliff 2. Save your self 600g and 70 quid.......

Not your question - but I really like the salewa vector 15 or 22 for this - stupid light and pretty comfy to climb with so long as you're not bringing lots of stuff/don't need to stow your ice tools etc...
