Hello all,

Happy new year! I will be buying some new mountaineering boots this week for mixed climbing and ice climbing and I have a tricky descision to make.
I wanted to put it out there to you lovely people to see what experiences/thoughts people have to help me decide.
I am a big fan of Arc'teryx and so the Acrux AR GTX seemed like a good option but I have friends who swear by La Sportiva and so the G2 SM boot also looks good.

So, should I go for:
A - Arc'teryx Acrux AR GTX
B - La Sportiva G2 SM

Any help/ advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Nicholas John Simmons

Which one fits best? Theres no point drooling over a boot thats too narrow, tight, boxy etc

I have the G5s and they're plenty warm enough for the UK, G2s might be overkill unless you plan on climbing up to 6000m, or you get really cold feet.

I'd go for the pair which fits the best.
