Going through a pile of helmets and have petzl elios with code I can't decipher as doesn't match examples on Petzl website ( https://www.petzl.com/INT/en/Sport/FAQ/how-can-i-find-out-the-age-of-my-pet...).  Hoping someone can tell me what A428001-B means. My guess is 2001 but...? TIA

That’s the product code rather than the serial number. The serial number is probably on a sticker with a qr code on it...

Ah - There's only one sticker and that's the only code so looks like I won't find out!  Cheers.

If it’s really old then it might be on the plastic connector between the chin strap and the cradle.

Thanks-  on the plastic connector is an number which is not moulded but made from a series of tiny dots: 05250A478  so that sounds like it's the one - could it translate as year 2005, day 250, maker A but not sure about the 478.  

That’s it: manufactured September 2005. 478 is the unique identifier for that helmet.
