Hi all,

(I hope this is in the right forum)

I'm posting this here as I know some of you make your own rucksacks etc.

My dog has chewed through one of the stomach straps on her Ruffwear harness. The straps are made of some sort of tape so tough a normal sewing machine won't go through it, and nor will a normal needle and thread. Can anyone recommend somewhere that can mend it for me? It's the 'last' strap, that goes round her stomach, and it's obviously designed to be super strong so that, when necessary, she can be lifted using the handle on top of the harness.

Thanks in advance.

In reply to Tall Clare:

Lots of haberdashery shops will do repairs, or know someone who will, worth asking there.

If you want to mend if yourself, if you get needles for repairing sails (and the appropriate thimble) then you'll probably be able to do it yourself. Rivits may be handy as well.

Good call - my neighbours are keen sailors and are good at fixing things. Not sure why it didn't occur to me to ask them!

You could also try a cobbler or shoe mender.
