That said, we might have a competition running a little later in the year, so watch this space...

I'll also be reviewing one within the relatively near future too.

5th version?  Maybe they'll be better that the previous ones which devoured batteries at a ridiculous rate or randomly switched off (or both).  Had several, and had one replaced under warranty, then gave up.  Petzl Nao is better in all regards.  The latter doesn't have a remote battery, but as the connector was one of the things that made the Silva one randomly switch off, that's no bad thing.  I'm not one for being out-spoken about products, but this thing could never be allowed out on a hill - its venerable BD predecessor went instead (or a bike light on an elastic headband)
