Quechua tents?
What do people think of these two second tents?
Was thinking of getting one for summer weekends
Away? Pros and cons anyone?

got one, use it, its good for what we want it for

very short (im 5 9 and its ok but try it ou
of you are tall), very easy to pitch, bit trickier but not hard to pack

we use it for quick overnight stops throw it up, kip in it (no gear)
and strike in the morning

wouldn't want to use it in serious weather,

Ive never had one but a pal of mine has one plus a Terra Nova Quasar (i have the Voyager) and he will take both his on our Lakes trips. If we camp at a proper campsite and the weather is forecast good then he will use the Quenchua every time as he can simply chuck it up in seconds. I may even invest in one this year. Cheap easy and roomy enough for one - although i have seen some biggers ones now using the same principle.

If we are wild camping of the weather isnt ideal we use the TNs.

As said above; good for quick shelter in good weather. Lack of anything like a decent porch means that they can become pretty dismal in bad weather.

Oh - and check out the ventilation in the single skin jobs. I had one that included a warning about leaving the door partially unzipped and I do know a couple of friends who woke very groggy and headachy after a night with everything zipped up tight.

They can be a real faff to put away.

And throwing them down and watching them automatically unfold can be very entertaining (for other people) if it is a windy day - play at catch-the-tent.

In reply to pierc: Thanks everyone who replied.
So basically good for nice weather camping in summer.
I can go with that. Think I'll just carry on using my force ten. Cheers
