Anyone had any issues fitting crampons to the LS Trango Cube?
I've had two pairs of Petzl crampons now (Vasak and Irvis Hybrid) where there seems to be an issue of the narrow toe of the boot forcing its way through the front basket of the crampon when front pointing. It would be solved with a more rigid basket (or a narrower one) but as it stands it means that the front section of the crampon either ends up pushed back under the boot (if front pointing) or twisted slightly (if contouring on hard ice).
Strange. Mine are a 45. I suspect it is actually something to do with the size, as I know a few people with smaller boots who don't have this problem. But then I wouldn't have expected the toe to be narrower in a bigger boot?
Only ever had similar issues (extreme's and cube) when the front of the boot is so worn the sole does not but up against the lugs to which the bail attaches. But they have to be well worn, as in no sign of the front C3 attachment point remaining!
