Basicly as the topic title says. My Harness is looking a little worse for wear after a number of very muddy muti-pitch epics in North Wales

Any suggestions or advice on if/how to wash my harness most welcome

Cheers UKC

In reply to razzorbuzz: In the bath with cool water and some rope cleaner or pure soap depending on what you have to hand.

In reply to razzorbuzz:

Just done a few Google searches, and the common advice is

Hand wash in warm water with a mild soap (never use bleach), and air dry away from direct sunlight.

Look in the care instructions for your harness, for example, look at the "care" tab for this.

I have never understood the obsession with keeping climbing kit out of sunlight at all costs when drying it.
I don't see how drying kit for half a day occasionally in the sun can do any damage to it when the kit is regularly used all day out in the sun...
In reply to razzorbuzz: Just chuck it in the washing machine inside a pillow case, using Nikwax Techwash.

Techwash is perfectly safe for washing ropes so will be fine for harnesses.

In reply to The Ex-Engineer: Cheers that was the sort of plan I had in mind just not having done it before I thought I'd would see what others had done.
