I'm looking for some approach shoes for Instructing in the summer and I'm looking for some advice on which approach shoes fit the specs that I need below;

Hard wearing, particularly the sole (constant daily use for 4 months)
water resistant
quick drying
comfy
good support/ foot protection
reasonably priced (on a shoestring budget)

I like Scarpa Zen. They're rock solid and climb F5a.

In reply to Jackspratt:

what about climbing performance? Sounds like you are not bothered too much?

If that is the case I wouldn't bother with the climbing brands (La Sportiva, 5.10, etc) and instead get a pair of rugged trainer type approach shoes from merrell or berghaus etc they are cheaper and usually more aimed at walkers so have waterproof membranes and non climbing rubber soles so are more durble.

If you want climbing ones tho get Boulderers or dragontails they are the mutts nuts
