Evening all,

Has anyone walked this from the Ling Hut in Torridon?

What is it like from this direction? Some reports are saying large slippy quartz boulders. Is it suitable for a collie?

Planning on a week there in September.

Stalking site says the path to the top from the long hut is always accessible.

Ta

In reply to Dave the Rave:

Your collie will have no bother at all. Especially in the current dry conditions that look likely to persist  until end of June.

In reply to Dave the Rave:

The quartzite boulders are only in the last couple of hundred feet. Fairly easy to pick your way up them

It tends to be a winter hill for me along with Sgorr Ruadh but in September you should have no access problems from Ling

I asked exactly the same question a few months ago.

As it happens, I haven't made use of the advice given, but I do hope to do so in the near future.

I did it years ago with my collie. He was in good shape and had no trouble. In this weather, you'll need to consider water and heat stroke. I'd plan for a dog dip in Lochan Uaine.

Cheers Flinticus. It’s a mid September plan so hopefully it’s cooled down by then👍

I tend to give hills a miss with the dog and myself if it’s weather like this.

Shes mainly black and just soaks up the heat, plus the dried heather is not good on her pads.

Bring on the ber months she says👍

Yeah, fully agree.

Bright skies and cold days all the time.
