14 degrees in ambleside this evening

8 degrees on great end this am

Sensor on helvelyn has left the building

Global warming or just normal variability, don't remember a 14 degrees in Jan.

(I think you're falling into the same trap as dear old Donald T, confusing the weather on a single day with climate). Climate is measured over a longer timescale and although unusual weather conditions could be due to climatic changes it is not necessarily the case.

It did feel unusual to be out in a t-shirt yesterday though.

14 degrees in January I would say is far more normal than perfect ice conditions in the Lakes.
