I'm off to the Faroe Islands later this month, has anyone been? I'm looking for any not to miss recommendations of the Hill Walking kind?

Slatteratindur is a very nice walk if the weathers good.

I have never been there, but I have a Scandinavian cook book and the Faroe Island bits of it are mostly terrifying.

A traipse over the hills of Suduroy is highly recommended, around Famjin, but go to Hvannhagi, awesome views of Stora dimun and Litla dimun. Watch out for Skuas though.

I'd love to walk the full length of the Kalsoy ridge tho.

Not walking, but some nice photos here that might give some pointers:

I have some friends who lived in the Faroes and are making a documentary. They've done some blog posts, maybe some of it is inspriring:

I visited them last year and went up Slættaratindur, easy walk, great views if the weather's good. I also did the boat tour from Vestmanna along the sea cliffs. If the sea is quite calm the boat slaloms between the sea stacks. Very fun.

The famous waterfall in to the sea is very good too, although you can just drive to it.

And if you want to climb, try this:

I think you'll be there at the right time to see the puffins too.

Have fun, it's a wild place.

Also, the hike past the knitting stone near Sandur is nice too.
