Lime Encrusted stream near Harpur Hill, Buxton

My wife and I went for a walk today around Buxton and went past a feature we have noticed previously from the road. I figured it was a result of past lime burning in the area and came up with the link to a previous Forum post which is now inactive/archived

I did wonder if the mythology of trolls somehow derived from prehistoric calcification of dead animals.

The human body also does this under circumstances the investigation I will leave to the reader’s discretion and sensibilities.
