A DAB radio from my parents. My last one died so this wee thing's very welcome, 6music is back! Anyone else get a great gift?

Wife wanted a 'google home' speaker so I traipsed into town to find one not really knowing what it was or why I had to spend £90 on a bloody Bluetooth speaker. Anyway, she was over the moon with it xmas morning, set it up in about three minutes flat and now the whole family has been converted. Amazing bit of kit which I'm pretty sure has real magic in it.

So my best Christmas prezzie was one I bought, not knowing what it was lol

What does it do that makes it better than a 'Bluetooth speaker'?

For a start it can be asked questions, told to turn things on and off, remind you of stuff... act as a DAB radio, an audio book reader, a news reader manage a security light system etc

Mine isn't a google one - I was given an Echo by work, and whilst initially sceptical I'm very impressed at how well it works. The only issue I have with it is it occasionally starts reading the wrong book via audible (but I think this is an audible issue)

I can listen to digital radio on my tablet or telly, but it sounds better through the new radio, and it's a nice looking thing.
