So I work at an e-commerce company and I needed some test projects to test an API integration so I thought you know what? I'll add some climbing related products. First one I went to was the Beastmaker 1000 on Amazon. After copying some info I noticed this in the Customers also shopped for section.

Everyone knows that Beastmakers are like bright red sports cars.....!

I have 2.

Probably they use information they already have about you to prioritise which products appear in the list.

I checked that before posting! Since I'm not logged in (actually in an incognito window) they don't have any data about my previous purchases

They've still got your IP address, and can make inferences based on that. They will be analyzing their bulk data in any/every way possible.

Can I add a NOT SAFE FOR WORK for the picture.

Some  companies have no sense of humour.

If this becomes popular I expect all routes will have 'climaxes' as opposed to 'cruxes'

And what the hell is "pickleball"?

I'm guessing it's either a game or a medical condition.

I've heard that many climbers have a jacket fetish. Though, I always took it to mean something different.

Very rare, you only get two per Pickle Rick...

What else would you rack your extra weight on?

Incognito doesn't depersonalise your browsing session and "customers also shopped for" is a feature which is controllable by even the most basic e-commerce software. It's not a list of altruistic suggestions to help the customer find products it's a tool to drive profits and shift more profitable items. Amazon's algorithms aren't in the public domain but they will use the same kind of affinity analysis as netflix et al driven by huge amounts of data - as you have discovered it doesn't always give the most appropraite suggestions.

I thought that was the bread and butter of working in e-commerce.

And a leather strap and paddle board.

...Perhaps they thought 'Beastmaker' some kinda performance enhancer and they were 'WTF?' on seeing a finger board

I hope there's someone on a BDSM forum going ''what's a finger board????'

On a BDSM note, a new friend was bitching about Fifty Shades Of Grey not having clear boundaries and consent and things when we met up for a drink. She called it '50 Shades Of Go F*ck Yourself'.  So now you know, don't follow 50 Shades Of Grey.

They are very effective at thawing out ice screws.

Allegedly.
