What are these things i keep seeing strapped to the ankles of boulderers? Are they weights or heat pads or something?
I think Shauna Coxsey was wearing them in a picture with Alex Megos?
Edit: Just found out they are weights.
But why?
It's always beneficial to have a long weight before trying a hard problem.
Rumour has it Shauna was making Megos look like a total punter for an event and needed to add the ankle weights to even things out.
Presumably to make your legs work harder, quite why, i don't know.
I do not need such help as i have enormous feet!
