Following on from the No Country article I was curious to check BAME representation in the images used for competition ads on UKC. Had a look through about 8 and found little to no representation of anything other than white female/male models/athletes - is this a case of art imitating life as they say?
Would a more balanced representation lead to a greater sense of inclusivity (I’d say only someone from a BAME background could truly answer this I guess)
Further to the more recent pressure to address the male to female imbalance in these ads, is now the time outdoor gear companies should be addressing this?
