Never seen this before, a whole tree/shrub covered in caterpillar web stuff. And where they rated the leaves, quite a spooky skeleton left behind. There where quite a few like this. Any ideas?
A species of Ermine Moth caterpillar looks likely. They apparently have some 80 species of predators (mostly parasitic wasps) and parasites, which is why they cocoon themselves and the whole tree in sticky silk to protect themselves.
