"Exquisite" Christ figure

I get the historical significance, but exquisite? I think it's ugly.

From Oxford dictionary: Origin: Late Middle English (in the sense ‘precise’): from Latin exquisit- ‘sought out’, from the verb exquirere, from ex- ‘out’ + quaerere ‘seek’.

I guess in the sense it's sought after... an exquisite example of early craftsmanship.

I wouldn't say its ugly tho

The problem with that is that I don't believe the curator was using the term in either the Late Middle English or Latin sense.
