Greendale in mourning

John Cunliffe, creator of Postman Pat (and Rosie and Jim) has died.

I read that he created Greendale - a peaceful Dales village where everyone looks after each other - as a response to childhood bullying. I was quite touched by that

In reply to toad: I used to love Postman Pat, it was a favorite when I was poorly and off school, my Mum would make me some soup and sit me in front of  the TV and the fire with a bowl, while making me egg and soldiers or spaghetti on toast or something to eat next.

that he's died, but  at the memories.

You're correct. And Mrs Goggins's post office is up at the top of Beast Banks in Kendal, also famous for the excruciating finish of one of the Tour of Britain's stages.
