I've never taken insurance out for a UK holiday before but given the dire state of CalMac services to Arran, I'm thinking of protecting against delays or no sails. Ayone know of decent insurers for ferry cancellations or is this kind of thing included as standard in most policies?

Cheers

I don't know about insurance, but I believe the Lochranza ferry is more reliable. Maybe worth trying to go that way?

Should be covered as standard with the usual caveat that the policy is taken out when the trip is booked (or rather prior to any cancellation). I keep an annual policy on the go partly for such things, though I've never had to use it in anger

Yep, it's always been on my travel policies as standard. People here (Guernsey) regularly use ferries and there's never been a problem with people making claims on their travel insurance.
