Had to disconnect my pc earler. Put it all back again but the keyboard fell off the desk. When I reconnected it I couldn't make any input. The NUM/CAPS/SCROLL are now blinking about every ten seconds. Grateful for any advice or help please.

The drop onto the floor has obviously caused a loose connection.
To fix, drop on floor repeatedly until connection is no longer loose.

You've probably already checked this but...might be worth checking that one or more keys are not jammed down.  Disconnect keyboard and press each key in turn, confirming that each key returns to its un-depressed position.  Good luck (and remember, keyboards can be relatively cheap to replace)

Ah, that's great news! (although some on here might disagree...!)

Thanks for letting me know.

usb or ps2 connections? if the latter make sure you haven’t got the keyboard and mouse the wrong way around. Supposedly can’t happen due to design of the plugs but i’ve seen it several times

My left cursor key is broken as in not responding to keypress. Makes editing hard work!

I feel your pain.
