Whilst browsing the internet I noticed that there's a vacancy for an Assistant Warden working with the Eastern Moors Partnership.
It looks like liaising with other organisations and communicating ideas is a large part of the role. It would be terrific if the person appointed was also a keen climber and able to balance climbers' needs/desires with managing sites...!

Dept/Section/Region/Reserve: Eastern Moors, Northern England Regional Reserves
Location of Job: Peak District - Eastern Moors
Post holder reports to: Eastern Moors Partnership Senior Warden
Reporting To Post holder: National Trust & RSPB Volunteers
Other onsite relations: Site Manager, Visitor Services Manager, Project Manager and Administrator.
Other working relations: National Trust Peak District team, wider RSPB staff, Peak District National Park Authority Officers, Natural England Conservation Officer, Farming Tenants, Stakeholder groups, Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Wildlife Trust, Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, Parish Councils.
Overall purpose of the job: To work as part of an enthused team to create an exemplar site, demonstrating how the uplands can be managed to benefit both people and wildlife. To undertake practical land management and infrastructure maintenance, as well as helping to deliver the site’s ecological monitoring programme. To supervise our growing volunteer team in order to achieve the ambitious targets as set out in our management plan.
