The shop manager asked us to put the word out that the shop is closing down and they are offering stock at 40% discount. The cafe is still going to operate. Had a breakfast there. Excellant food and atmosphere.

Real shame that as I too was in there just before christmas. Friendly well stocked AND knowledgeable staff not usual these days when talking about independents.

Have to say with every other shop in the lakes selling gear how the hell do ANY of them make any money is a mystery to me!
In reply to Phil1919: That is a big shame, it was one of the only reasons to stop in Ambleside. Glad the cafe will still be there though!
