Evening,

I'm hoping some London dwellers could give me some pointers on where to go for live music on a Friday night in the Shoreditch / Brick Lane area.

If there is no good then is Angel / Islington any better?

In reply to Edradour: Moved back to Scotland from London last year but the Hope and Anchor in Islington was always a good night out for live music.

The area is littered with bars & clubs, music venues. Narrow it down a bit. What do you like? On the other hand you could just go on a crawl down brick lane and meet people talk to them and find something entirely random & fantastic. Make sure you take out a mortgage, a night on the ale buying rounds is easily going to cost 100-150 quid. Can't speak for Angel, too many chain bars and restaurants for me.
