I seem to have lost all photos on UKC site over the last couple of days. Everything else appears to work fine. Anyone else had a similar problem?

Hi Colin, can see 20 photos in your gallery. Mine looks ok too.

In reply to Mike-W-99:

No, I mean all images associated with news items, articles etc (except ads) are not appearing.

In reply to Colin Scotchford:

Are you using an up to date browser?

I also have this issue (using Chrome browser if this is relevant). Until a few days ago all was working fine. I switched to the Firefox browser and problem solved. However, as Chrome is my preferred browser I would appreciate an explanation regarding the issue and a suggestion regarding a solution. Forum help please.

In reply to Colin Scotchford:

Can you try visiting this page to clear your browser cache please?

In reply to King Arthur:

I'm using firefox already, tried chrome no joy, also safari on both desktop and laptop

In reply to Paul Phillips - UKC and UKH:

Hi Paul

I tried this, no joy. So still no photos on mac desktop via safari or firefox or chrome. on mac laptop no photos on safari but works ok with chrome. Photos disappeared on Friday. Does this coincide with any changes at UKC?

You haven't selected this option under your Forum Settings by any chance?  "Auto hide message photos (photos won't be loaded until expanded, saving data and visual space)"

I've had it happen with Safari on my desktop Mac a couple of times.

I think I cleared the cookies for UKC in  Safari / Preferences / Privacy / Manage Website Data

Then you'll have to log in again with you name and password.

Could you list what MacOS versions these are running please?

Hi Colin,

I also tried Pauls suggestion with zero effect.

I have the same problem as Colin and I can confirm that I have not selected the option "Auto hide message photos (photos won't be loaded until expanded, saving data and visual space)".

Annoyingly the adverts on the RHS panel are active, but nothing else.

There is a small chance Chrome's developer tools might provide a clue - open a forum page where you expect to see an image, then press Ctrl + Shift + i to open the developer tools sidebar, look on the Console tab for any error messages.

In reply to Paul Phillips - UKC and UKH:

On the desktop it's OS 10.6.8 with 48.0.2 Firefox

On the Macbook it's 10.12.2 with 10.0.2 Safari

I've just checked UKC on my 2011 MacBook Pro. Not logged into UKC on there at the moment.
Safari (my main browser on that laptop) - all OK
Opera (secondary browser) - all OK
Chrome (downloaded and installed just for this check) - all OK

In reply to Colin Scotchford:

Is it working for you now?

In reply to Paul Phillips - UKC and UKH:

Yes, thanks. Working on both devices. What was this issue?

In reply to Colin Scotchford:

Your web browsers are too old to support the "new" JavaScript coding standards from 2016.

We reverted to the old way of doing it.
