I’ve just realised that I’ve not seen one this year and have also missed the Ransom. Any coincidence here? Has anyone got any May bugs in a holding pen just waiting for a ransom?

Saw a few in the Peak - I've never noticed one before. 

We have them here - one landed on my shoulder when I was putting the bins out the other night.  They seem to be very cyclical with good and bad years.

Loads in the Forrest of Dean.

Been thinking the same, haven't seen any here (South Shropshire).  Usually see at least a couple.  Much fun to be had pointing out to my wife that they're also called cockchafers.  Hilarious, every single year.
