I was bored the a couple of days and got one those calls that started with, "Hello Mr Billhook, this is BT we have detected a virus in your computer and we need to remove it to protect your data......blah, blah etc.,"
Great fun. I pretended to carry out some of his instructions, gave him silly answers to others and I could sense his frustration with my 'mistakes', and delight that I was hooked and attempting to follow his instructions. I made him work a bit harder by telling at one stage that the website I'd opened was a porn one and so on. I think I even asked him if he knew of any more!. In the end he asked for my IP address to which I told him he should know it if they've contacted me and asked him if he could answer one of my security questions such as my mum's maiden name. To which he replied rather brusquely; "Thanks for wasting my time and; Goodbye" where upon he put the phone down.
I felt so much better!
