I'm hoping there's someone on here who has done this recently.

Our Skoda has the Amundsen satnav in it. Can you install the updated map onto a fresh SD card and use that, or do you need to do it on the existing Skoda SD card?

or the appropriate forum on here is probbaly your best bet at getting the answer. I THINK i recall seeing there are some hidden files on the SD card that are used to authorise it... BUt I can't put my finger on it. I don't have the map system, so just use my phone with downloaded Google maps...

Looks like I may be wrong.. Look at the last few pages of this ... when they talk about formatting a blank SD card to FAT...

Worked fine.

The download can only be copied to an SD card, not the laptop. So much for getting a head-start, as my wife has the car currently.

I'll try again when I've got access to the SD card.
