Ive got a whole load of retired climbing slings (20+ years old) I never climb with them but just don't like the idea of throwing them out.

Anyone found a good use for them?

Abseil off them.

I've got some that are 40 years old and I'd have no hesitaion to use them, I do for work on buildings regularly... as long as they have been stored out of sunlight I don't think there is any scientific reason to believe they lose their strength.

In reply to Bruce Hooker: I'm sure they are probably fine but just wouldnt feel safe to ab of them
In reply to anomm: i mainly use old ones for attaching things like drill and glue gun to me whilst bolting. Hundreds of household uses. As well as keeping gear organised. Keeping bunches of harnesses or helmets together for work.

Well surely that would place the least stress on them! If they're fine.
