It's actually slightly worded like that.  I suspect, though, that a lot of it is people displaced from gyms and swimming pools.

Yeah, probably not far from the truth. Definitely is for me. Since I'm working from home (well, technically from my van on my drive as my house is a bloody building  site...) and I can't climb, just went for a 3 mile run around the area at lunch. Hadn't run in 9 month or so.

Was pleasantly surprised, people appeared to be keeping distances for a change.

I think people are slowly starting to get the point.  While I think £30 is too low, that should make the point for some.

Thats partly because people who prefer other activities (e.g. climbing, swimming, team sports, gym etc) are confined to a smaller set of available (and more visible) options. Also a lot of people are off work.

I feel sorry for the dogs, they're all going to be worn out by next week!

I've just suggested a walk to my dog and he told me to f*ck off! He's going on Gumtree.

Not round here, they're not! Impatient arses that can't wait for an opportunity to pass at safe distance are just barging past anyway

Probably just that people are desperate to get out of the house.

I think the fine weather has helped but it's wonderful to see so many people cycling, running and walking (in an appropriately socially distanced way).

Bit like it is so nice not to have the constant noise and contrails from commercial air traffic.

There were people everywhere on my usually fairly peaceful off road cycle route, it felt like a sunny weekend day. 'Keep away'  I'm maybe going to start getting up for a dawn cycle for some peace. 

It was specifically said on this afternoon's press conference that this is actually deliberate.

£30 for what is too low?

The fine for breaking social distancing/going out for a non-listed reason.  Apparently it doubles with each offence, though.

So your 10th offence costs > £15,000, and your 16th > £1m?

I'm working next to our local abbey which overlooks our town.  A week ago there were a couple of local dog walkers going past and one jogger on a regular basis plus the odd cyclist.

Since  Tuesday.  Lots of  joggers, and the number of locals now out walking their dogs has increased no end.  I didn't even know some of them owned dogs! and it now appears to be a part of a cycle circuit - even though its on a dead end road.

I think there's a limit, but I couldn't tell you what it was.

JCM or off duty would probably know better, but there is a point where repeated offending eventually becomes contempt of court and will end in a jail sentence rather than just a fine.

It's to get the public to understand exponential growth!
