Sorry if this is a regular post, looking into buying a new camera, my 1st D-SLR after borrowing a D90 over the summer.
Looking at a Nikon D7000 as both Mum and Granddad have Nikons and therefore lens to borrow.

As always want to get the best deal (body only). Have checked the usual google and camera price buster etc.

What I really want to know is where would you consider being a ‘safe’ buy?
DigitalRev and other Hong Kong based shops? UK stores only? Amazon?

Is it worth saving £100?
Thank you

I used DigitalRev for my 5D a while ago. No problems. I think I ended up paying VAT and import duty, but on something of that value I'd rather just pay then try to blag it. I've also bought an 'L' lens off them at some point too.

Do you have to pay VAT on that?

I've bought my new body off digital rev but ive got it in a email that if you buy from the web store and NOT the ebay one that - "please note that the price you pay upon check out is in fact all inclusive. Any VAT/duties that may be charged to the parcel will be covered by us."

also be aware that this is considered a gray import and some grays get voided warranty but considering im saving nearly 1k im not bothered and cover it on insurance

London Camera Exchange have some decent stuff in occasionally too
In reply to Mr G: I got a 450D off e-bay, a hong Kong dealer. I got ripped off when buying a 60D from HK, but paypal refunded me.

I'll be buying a 5D (mk3) off e-bay next month.
