Just back from a trip to India where i was working for a few days . I did get a chance to get out and about a bit and the experience of photographing people in India is completely the opposite of photographing people in Morocco. The kids in India love being photographed , and many of the adults are also not averse to posing , albeit rather stiffly . I've attached some of my favourite images and a short blog about it if anyone is interested .

What 'processing' did you do on these images to get that effect.... if you don't mind me asking

In reply to Indy: its a combnation of things , 90% of what i do is LR4 , but i also use the detail extractor in Color efex pro to bring out every crease and wrinkle . and then a little PS6 to remove any distracting elements , does that make me a bad person ? ; )

I think I saw that first woman in a Nivea advert! ;P

Excellent work, as usual.

I was in India a few years ago and thought I'd got some good pics, but yours blow mine out of the water. Great stuff!

In reply to Wide_Mouth_Frog: Its an inspiring place to photograph, thats for sure .so much life , not all of it in great shape , but as was said earlier , 'every face tells a story' , but that story is pretty tough and most dont have a happy ending

Wonderful set of images Nadir, India is a fantastic place. I remember shooting a kid in Varanasi in 1998, and then when i was back in the same place in 2000, a kid kept tugging my shirt (thought it was someone after baksheesh) and he says "Do you remember me" ! it was the same young kid. Very humbling to think of all the tens of thousands of people that travel through Varanasi and he remembered me.

Damn, i want to go back !

We spent the day hanging around the same corner he was selling postcards at, took a load of shots and bought postcards off him as a thank you. Yes it was pretty amazing he remembered me due to the amount of people that pass through there to/from the Nepalese border.

Love the picture of the woman with the car reflection in her eyes.
