Looking at getting a sub £450 laptop, its mainly for internet, photoshop, films and maybe the odd game.
Anyone purchased one recently and have any useful comments on what to get and what to avoid.

Cheers.

I was very impressed with the Samsung one that my nephew got when he got into University, in fact I did rather rave about it on here.

If you know what you want, you might be able to cut corners if you order something custom made at http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk
- for mine, I saved money by not installing windows or office (am a linux gal) and not getting a fancy graphics card (not a gamer). I did spend the difference on an ssd though... Mine came to about £550.

My gf just got an Acer 5750... for around 450... Intel i5, decent ram and hard drive, and it seems decent... I would say go into curry's or similar first to test out the keyboards and the mouse pad, cause these are important and different people like different things.

In reply to Fatboy1000: Just went through buying a new laptop in about the same price range. Ended up with a Lenovo Z570. Seems to work well enough and is built bit better than some.
