If you’re thinking about a big wall adventure this autumn and need to brush up on your aid techniques,these may be the courses for you.

Andy will be holding 3 workshops at The Castle in June;

Basic Big Wall Course: Road to the Nose

Monday 25th June - 10am till 4pm
Tuesday 26th June - 10am till 4pm

£150 per person (course ratio 1:4)

Advanced Big Wall Course: Road to the Shield

Wednesday 27th June - 10am till 4pm

£150 per person (course ratio 1:4)

The courses will give you an insight into the multitude of physical and mental challenges you will face on a big wall adventure. Andy will teach you the techniques needed to be successful on a big wall within the safe environment of the climbing wall. He may even regale you with some of the stories of his own experiences.

To attend the Road to the Shield course you must have a basic understanding of aiding already and ideally should done the basic Road to the Nose course already, or have some big wall experience.

Monday is now fully booked for Andy Kirkpatrick's Big Wall Course (basic).

There are only 3 spaces left on the basic course (Tues 26th) and only 1 on the advanced course (Wednesday 27th).

Please let us know which course you are interested in. We will take your name and contact details and if we generate enough interest, we may be able to add an extra course on Thursday 28th or Friday 29th June (we need a minimum of 2 people for the course to run).

Please be aware we CANNOT guarantee we will be able to run an extra course, but we will try our best!
